A Bad Break

I have some sad news... I had a nail break.  It is the same break, on the same nail, in the same spot that I keep getting over and over again.  It is the left corner of my middle finger on my swatching (left) hand. Each time I have this break I nicely file all my nails down (like a good blogger should) so I can have an even set of nails to swatch.  Well this time I am super irritated with this same stupid break and I refuse to file alllllllllll of my other nails down!  In my opinion, it looks absolutely ridiculous to have different length nails when swatching.  Therefore I have decided to take a little blogging/swatching break to let my nails breath and hopefully let that nail grow out a bit so I won't have to cut the other nails down.

Additonally, my life is a 3 ring circus right now.  My last two classes of my graduate program have turned out to be a nightmare.  What happened to the final classes being a breeze?  Like remember the last quarter of your senior year of high school all you did was sit in yearbook in the morning and go on college tours or work on college applications in the afternoon? Those were the simple days!  Also work is out of control at the moment so I could sure use the break.  No pun intended :) .  

I only hope to be gone for about a month.  My 1 year blogiversary giveaway is still going on for another week.  I will definitely pop in to announce the winners and get the prizes mailed out.  I'm not going to leave you guys high and dry (as my mother used to say [ever feel like you are turning into your parents more and more everyday? Okay sorry I digress]).  I will be highlighting some of my favorite mani's of the year thus far. Soooo, Without further ado.

It's My Birthday!!!!

It's my Birthday!!! Today is a milestone age for me.  So many people complain and whine about getting older but every year is a blessing!  I lost someone very close to me and they were fairly young.  From that experience I learned that the present is a gift, therefore I'm thankful for each new day.  Oh and if you are wondering how old I am, lets just say I need to update my profile because the first sentence is no longer true.  

For today's mani I did something fun.  I did a black gradient so to speak.  I made my tips matte with a matte topcoat.  Then I used KB Shimmer Clown Puke, an awesome glitter bomb, on the accent nails.

Today I have a polish from Mod Lacquer.  I have featured Mod Lacquer before on the blog (seen Here).  They have the prettiest polishes and all of the formulas are good.  Today I used Nonpareils.  A polish with a white milky base and rainbow glitter.

I found Revlon Whimsical at Rite Aid and I had to have it.  I paired it with KB Shimmer Oh Splat.   

Budding Romance

Today I have a budding romance with some puke for you lol.  China Glaze Budding Romance and KB Shimmer Clown Puke.  I absolutely had to have this China Glaze polish when the Avant Garden Collection came out.  Funny thing is once I got it, it took me forever to swatch it.  Then when I swatched it, it did that weird bubbling thing you can see an example here .  I don't know what causes the polish to behave that way.  I follow the same steps that I do with all other mani's but it bubbles.  If you know the cause of this please let me know.  Since the polish bubbled I decided to throw my favorite glitter of all time on top, KB Shimmer Clown Puke.

Today I have a partial DuD of a mani.  I told you that sometimes I will share the DuD's with you so here you are. The reason I said that it was partially a DuD is because the polish bubbled horribly.  I honestly never had that happen before.  The colors are so pretty and spring like but you just can't see past the bubbles.  But once I put the KB Shimmer glitter topper on it is a true beauty.  

It's Prom Season

Yes, it is prom season and I had the absolute pleasure of doing my friend's daughter's nails.  Miss Morgan is a really good kid. She is sweet as pie and she does really well in school.  She is a girl after my own heart, putting her studies first and I am very proud of her!  When she asked me to do her nails for prom I did not hesitate to say yes as I adore she and her Mom!

Polish Days - 7 Deadly Sins: LUST

Thanks to http://www.pollypolish.com/ I am able to participate in my very first polish days.  I am absolutely thrilled and I am in love with the Theme, 7 Deadly Sins! 

The 7 Deadly Sins are: Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Pride.  Now, despite being left-handed I'm not very artistic.  I can't draw and I'm miserably terrible at nail art!  I still however, have an addiction love for nail polish.  I love trying out the latest colors, collections, and brands (Indie polish lover).  I get a deep fulfillment out of trying different combinations (polishes and toppers) and sometimes my mani is a flop (I have posted some of those) and other times the heavens open, harps play, and Angels sing.  When that happens My Smitten's, I literally LUST over my nails!  The below mani is a prime example of my sinful LUST!  The combinations of this mani turned out beautifully; if I must say so myself.  Funny thing is, I detest red polishes.  Hilarious, I know.  I never buy reds; sometimes when I'm purchasing a collection I will omit the purchase of the red if there is one.  This mani completely captured me and I drooled lusted over it from start to finish.  When it chipped I even considered repairing it and wearing it even longer than I wear any mani.  So without further ado I present to you
